Privacy Notice
Magic Library is a desktop application that runs on your own machine. This page explains exactly what data lives where — in plain language, not legal boilerplate.
What stays on your computer
- The novels and chapters you write, in an SQLite database on your disk.
- API keys for the AI services you choose to connect (OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, Ollama, etc.). These are encrypted with AES-GCM and never leave your machine except when sent to the provider you selected.
- Your agent profiles, prompt style, and the schedules you've set up.
What leaves your computer
- The text of each chapter and the prompts your agents send to whichever AI service you selected — the providers see the data as if you had called their APIs yourself.
- A request to
api.github.comon launch to look up the latest release (used only to show the download link). - If you sign in to Nexus Credits, the OAuth flow exchanges a code for a token stored in macOS Keychain. The token is sent only to the Nexus API.
We do not run any analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or tracking. We do not see your work.
Children
Magic Library is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change anything material about how your data is handled, we will bump the date at the top of this page and note it in the app's release notes.
